Urban and Municipal Statistics

Urban and municipal statistics Information system (MOŠ) and Urban information system of the capital of the SR Bratislava (MIS) ensure requirements of the SOSR at central, regional level and at the level of workplace of SOSR Regional Office in data collection, recording values of indicators for particular municipalities or towns of the SR. 

MOŠ Information system provides users with statistical information on every municipality and town of the SR and enables them to define outputs using various territorial units with perspective connection to European statistics. The system has cross-sectional character containing data from several statistical branches supplemented with further data and characteristics, which are not included in state statistical surveys. Moreover, it is intended that MIS would contain indicators for larger Slovak towns. At the moment the system has been realised only for the capital Bratislava and town Košice from 2003. List of indicators monitored in this statistical system consists of common MOŠ-MIS indicators, in which requirements of both systems are unified. Except for common indicators individual indicators are created for the capital Bratislava and town Košice according to MIS specific conditions. Agreed list of indicators, information sources for MOŠ-MIS data base filling and methods of data acquiring will be continuously improved according to the SOSR potentialities and adapted to new user requirements and legislative changes in database.

Presentation of the Urban and Municipal Statistics contains selected statistical information on the municipalities and urbans of the Slovak Republic. The presented data are as of: December 31, 2008. All the data are free of charge.
