Efficiency of the economy began again to increase after a year-on-year decrease in the previous year. In the 1st quarter of 2010,gross domestic product (GDP) was produced in the amount of EUR 15 072,4 million. Compared with the 1st quarter of 2009, it increased really by 4,8 % (at current prices, it was up by 2,8 %). Compared with the 4th quarter of 2009, it increased by 0,8 % after seasonal adjustment.

Flash estimates of Gross domestic product and Total employment in the first quarter of 2010

The volume of Gross domestic product in the first quarter of 2010 according to flash estimate procedure reached 15 053,4 million EUR. In comparison with the first quarter of 2009, the volume increased in constant prices by 4,6 % (at current prices by 2,7 %).
Total employment in the reference period reached 2 133 thousand persons. In comparison with the same period of the year 2009 decreased by 3 %.
