Development in April 2010 in comparison with March 2010 1)
Turnover increased in construction by 19,2 %, in information and communication by 1,3 %, in industry by 2 %, in transportation and storage by 0,6 %, and in selected market services by 0,6 %.
Development in April 2010, compared with April 2009
Turnover of industry amounted to EUR 5 448,6 million. It increased by 24,2 % and reached the highest increase in this year. The most significant increase of turnover was in sectors (that most affected the total increase of turnover) such as manufacture of transport equipment by 59,6 %, manufacture of metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 37,9 %, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 35,5 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 24,6 % and in electricity, gas, steam and air-condition supply by 23,9 %. Turnover decreased only in mining and quarrying (by 4,6 %).
A year-on-year decrease in turnover of construction moderated. Compared with April 2009, it decreased by 6,1 % to EUR 696,9 million.
Turnover of transportation and storage2) amounted to EUR 478,6 million, there was a 10,6 % year-on-year increase. Increasing turnover was affected mostly by a rise of turnover in land transport and transport via pipelines by 11,9 %, in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 21,5 % and in postal services and courier activities by 9,7 %.
Turnover in information and communication 3) continued decreasing. Its volume was EUR 381,7 million and it was lower than in April 2009 by 8,1 %. The development was affected most by a decrease of turnover in publishing activities (by EUR 25,8 million). Turnover was down also in motion picture, video and television programme activities; in television programming and broadcasting activities. Turnover increased in information service activities, telecommunications and computer programming. Telecommunications (48,8 %) and computer programming (28,5 %) have the highest share in the whole turnover.
Turnover of selected market services 4) amounted to EUR 665,5 million and increased by 2,8 %, year-on-year. Turnover of real estate activities, professional, scientific and technical activities represented a considerable share 57 %. Increasing turnover was affected mostly by a rise of turnover in advertising and market research by 9,4 %, in legal and accounting services by 8,7 %, in real estate activities by 0,9 %. Turnover did not reach the last year´s level in travel agency and tour operator activities (by 8,9 %) and in rental and leasing activities (by 7,9 %).
Development over the first four month of 2010 in comparison with the corresponding period last year
Turnover of industry amounted to EUR 21 036 million, there was a 18,9 % year-on-year increase. Turnover increased mostly in manufacture of transport equipment by 43,2 %, in manufacture of metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 27,8 %, in manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 26,4 %, in electricity, gas, steam and air-condition supply by 11,4 % and in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 6,4 %. It was lover only in mining and quarrying (by 8,1 %).
Turnover of construction enterprises amounted to EUR 2 029,3 million and decreased by 12,4 % , year-on-year.
Turnover in the sector of transportation and storage was realized in the total amount of EUR 1 826,2 million, it increased by 5,1 %, year-on-year. Turnover was up in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 18,1 %, in postal services and courier activities by 8,6 %, in land transport and transport via pipelines by 5,4 %. It decreased in air transport by almost four fifth.
Turnover of information and communication amounted to EUR 1 445,8 million. Turnover decreased by 6,6 %, of which in publishing activities by 37,7 % and in telecommunication by 3,4 %. Turnover increased in information service activities by 21,7 % and in computer programming by 2,1 %.
Turnover of selected market services increased by 0,9 %, year-on-year, it amounted to EUR 2 564,1 million. The increase was affected mostly by higher turnover in advertising and market research by 10,2 %, in travel agency and tour operator activities by 6,4 %, in administrative and support service activities by 5,9 % and in real estate activities by 3,2 %. Turnover of security and investigation activities decreased by 11,7 %, rental and leasing activities by 9,9 %, architectural and engineering activities by 5,9 %, other education and educational support activities by 3,8 %.
