Development in April 2010 compared with March 2010 1)
Turnover of individual internal trade activities increased in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 1,3 %. It decreased in food and beverage service activities by 2,8 %, in accommodation by 2 %, in retail trade by 1,8 % and in wholesale by 1,3 %.
Development in April 2010 compared with April 2009
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to EUR 299 million. Compared with April 2009, it decreased by 19,3 %. Turnover was down in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles (by 16,7 %), in sale of motor vehicles (by 13,5 %), in sale of parts and accessories of motor vehicles (by 13,4 %).
Turnover in wholesale amounted to EUR 1 977,9 million, there was a 3,9 % year-on-year increase. It increased in other specialized wholesale by 12,3 %, in non-specialized wholesale by 10,9 %, in wholesale of information and communication technologies (hereafter called ?ICT?) by 9,6 %, in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 2,9 %, in wholesale of agricultural raw materials and living animals by 2,3 %, in wholesale of household goods by 0,9 %, in wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 0,3 %. Turnover decreased in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 7 %.
Turnover in retail trade decreased again. Compared with April 2009, it decreased by 5,4 % to EUR 1 345,5 million. The development was affected most by a decrease in retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 11,9 %, in retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores by 6,7 %, in retail trade not in stores, stalls or market by 4,4 %, in turnover of other goods in specialized stores by 1,3 % and in non-specialized stores by 1,3 %.
Turnover in accommodation amounted to EUR 22,8 million. Compared with April 2009, it decreased by 12 %.
Turnover in restaurants and beverage service activities decreased by 13,7 % and amounted to EUR 61,1 million.
Development over the first four months compared with the corresponding period last year
Since the beginning of year, turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to EUR 1 074,5 million. It decreased by 13,3 %, year-on-year, it was affected by a decrease in turnover of repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 18,7 %, in sale of motor vehicles by 7,1 % and in sale of parts and accessories of motor vehicles by 0,9 %.
Turnover in wholesale amounted to EUR 7 410,6 million, there was a 2,7 % year-on-year increase. Turnover increased in other specialized wholesale by 10,7 %, in wholesale of household goods by 7,8 % and in wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 3,8 %. Turnover decreased in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 10,3 %, in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 3 % and in non-specialized wholesale by 2,3 %.
Turnover in retail trade decreased by 2,8 % and amounted to EUR 5 220,4 million, of which in retail trade of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 12,3 %, in retail trade not in stores, stalls or market by 8 %, in retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 4,4 % and in retail trade of other household goods by 2,4 %. Turnover increased in retail trade in non-specialized stores (by 3,1 %).
Turnover in accommodation amounted to EUR 92,5 million and decreased by 11,1 %, year-on-year.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities decreased by 13,7 % and it amounted to EUR 251 million.
