Development in December 2009 compared with November 2009 1)
Turnover increased in retail trade by 1,1 %, in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 0,5 %. It decreased in accommodation by 4,9 %, in restaurants and beverage service activities by 3,4 % and in wholesale by 1 %.
Development in December 2009 compared with December 2008
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased by 11,5 % to EUR 344,1 million. The development was affected mostly by lower turnover in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 13,2 % and in sale of motor vehicles by 12,9 %. Turnover increased in sale of parts and accessories of motor vehicles by 21,2 %.
Turnover in wholesale amounted to EUR 2 005,5 million, it decreased by 20,7 %, year-on-year, at current prices. Turnover decreased in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 38,5 %, in non-specialized wholesale by 36,4 %, in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 24,2 %, in wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 17,8 %, in other specialized wholesale by 13,8 %, in wholesale of household goods by 13,5 % and in wholesale of agricultural raw materials and living animals by 1,6 %. Turnover increased, year-on-year, in wholesale of information and communication technologies (hereafter called "ICT") by 9,8 %.
Turnover in retail trade decreased by 9,2 % to EUR 1 728,8 million. The development was mostly affected by a decrease in turnover in retail trade of other household equipment in specialized stores by 30,3 %, in retail trade not in stores, stalls or market by 29,9 %, of automotive fuel in specialized stores by 20,3 % and in retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 2,9 %. Turnover increased, year-on-year, in retail trade in non-specialized stores by 3 %, in retail trade of ICT by 2,7 % and in retail trade of cultural and recreation goods by 2,1 %.
Turnover in accommodation amounted to EUR 25,8 million, there was a 11,4 % year-on-year decrease.
Turnover in restaurants and beverage service activities amounted to EUR 74,9 million, it decreased by 21,3 %, year-on-year.
Development in 2009 compared with 2008
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to EUR 3 944,3 million. A 17,9 % decrease was affected by lower turnover in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 20,4 % and in sale of motor vehicles by 19 %. It increased in sale of parts and accessories of motor vehicles by 12,2 %.
Turnover in wholesale amounted to EUR 22 703,5 million, there was a 26,8 % decrease at current prices (in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 45,5 %, in non-specialized wholesale by 43,2 %, in other specialized wholesale by 32,8 %, wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 27,7 %, in wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 16,7 %, in wholesale of household goods by 9 % and wholesale of agricultural raw materials and living animals by 3,8 %). A rise was in wholesale of ICT by 5,5 %.
Turnover in retail trade decreased by 10,3 % and it amounted to EUR 17 441,2 million, of which in retail trade of household goods by 29,5 %, not in stores, stalls or market by 27,1 %, in retail trade of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 13,9 %, of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores by 9,4 % and in retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 6,6 %. Turnover increased in retail trade of ICT by 15,5 %, of cultural and recreation goods by 4,7 % and in retail trade in non-specialized stores by 3,1 %.
Turnover in accommodation amounted to EUR 315,1 million and decreased by 23,6 %.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities decreased by 27,7 % and it amounted to EUR 857,5 million.
